Welcome to the Ritchie Group website!

We apply optical techniques to explore and exploit the way light interacts with matter. Our experiments include spectroscopic analysis of gases, photolysis, and reaction dynamics, as well as manipulation of colloidal systems using optical tweezers.

Congratulations to Kim Whittaker for receiving an award for her poster at the annual meeting of the RSC Spectroscopy and Dynamics Interest Group!

Congratulations to Dr. Dear for successfully completing his DPhil viva with no corrections! Well done, Rich!

We are excited to welcome our new Part II students, Chris and Will, and to welcome back Sarah, a former Part II student now working towards her DPhil!
